All Things Print

I’ve been to two wonderful shows recently, the Affordable Art Fair at Battersea and Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair (WCPF) - both were so inspiring with some absolutely stunning and innovative work, especially printmaking. And I was so lucky to have won a competition run by Thames Clippers and WCPF that gave me free entry to WCPF and a day’s travel pass on the Thames Uber Boat. I have saved the Uber Boat Day Pass so that I can take a day out to draw the length of the Thames. I will then share my drawings online later.

As the print rep and print coordinator at The Forge in Digswell, Welwyn, I have recently reinstated open access for printmaking. And last week we added new print workshops, starting in January 2022.

Information on the current printmaking courses can been viewed here. We will also be adding to this throughout the year, so suggestions on something you’d like to see offered are always welcome.

I’m running a Polyester Plate Lithography Workshop – a non-toxic version of traditional lithography. I started exploring this after going on a Mokulito course a couple of years ago now. It’s same concept, but the plate is wood as opposed to the traditional stone or in this case, with my January course, polyester. It's a lovely process to achieve a broad range of graphic and/or painterly marks.

It’s great to be back sharing in the studio again. Here are a couple of recent samples.
