Polyester Plate Lithography COURSE

£65.00

Saturday 22nd January
Tutor – Sue Jarman
10.00am – 4:30pm

Polyester Plate Lithography is a non-toxic form of lithographic printing. Like traditional lithography, the process takes advantage of the fact that grease and water repel each other. When oily printing ink is applied to a plate it will only stick to the drawn/painted greasy areas.

This course will encourage experimental drawing, painting and mark techniques to create interesting and individual lithographic plates. Working with a variety of wet and dry media producing painterly strokes, ink washes, repeating textural marks, through to more delicate or sharp details using pens, pencils, and crayons. You will also get the opportunity to incorporate digital and photographic imagery.

By the end of the session, you will have printed an exploratory test plate and at least one more resolved print. There may also be the opportunity to introduce more than one colour depending on the complexity of your design.

Sue is an image maker, printmaker, and storyteller. She has a wide range of experience running creative workshops and lecturing and is a Fellow at The Forge.
